Customer Service Representative

As part of the Napier Port Transformation (NPT), we are introducing new ways of working across our terminal operations.
To support this transition, we are seeking expressions of interest for a Casual opportunity as a Terminal Information Assistant, focused on supporting external transport operators as they navigate changes across the port.
These roles are critical in ensuring a safe, smooth, and well-supported experience for truck drivers, helping bring our operational changes to life on the ground.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
You will play a key role in supporting external truck drivers as they enter and move through the port during the NPT transition period.
This is a frontline, customer-focused role, where you will:
- Engage directly with drivers to explain changes to processes and site movements
- Provide clear, supportive guidance to ensure safe and efficient navigation
- Escort drivers within the terminal or to PortPack where required
- Strong communication and confidence following operational processes (essential)
- Ability to accurately capture and communicate information in a fast-paced environment (essential)
- Understanding of the Port Terminal, Sites and layout (ideally)
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Capture and communicate real-time operational information
- Assist with system use and information flow across terminal operations with external stakeholders
- Act as a first point of contact for external truck drivers entering the port
- Clearly communicate new processes and changes associated with NPT
- Provide on-the-ground guidance and direction to drivers
- Escort truck drivers to the correct terminal or PortPack locations where required
- Support safe and efficient vehicle movement across operational areas
- Deliver a positive, professional customer experience at all times
- Contribute to a smooth transition for external transport operators
