We're excited to offer a 12-month fixed-term opportunity as a Trainee Container Terminal Planner within our dedicated Planning Team. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in container terminal operations and play a key role in the planning and logistics that drive our terminal’s success.

About the Role:

As a Trainee Planner, you’ll be part of a high-performing team responsible for the smooth receival and delivery of containers. You’ll work closely with our experienced planners, developing essential skills in system operations, organizational strategies, and leadership. This is a great opportunity to dive into the world of logistics and container terminal operations while gaining experience with Navis N4, a globally recognized container terminal planning software.

You’ll also play an important role during Hawke’s Bay’s harvest season, an exciting peak time for our terminal. This will give you valuable exposure to high-demand operations in a high-stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Planning Team with the receival and delivery of containers.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations in collaboration with shipping lines, contractors, and agencies.
  • Work within the terminal’s dynamic and fast-paced environment, particularly during peak periods.
  • Gain experience using Navis N4, our state-of-the-art terminal planning software.

About You:

  • You’re an eager, fast learner who values safety and strives to deliver excellent customer service.
  • You thrive in a constantly changing environment and can adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role.
  • You’re flexible and willing to work in a 24/7 rostered environment, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is a bonus, but not essential
