REFRIGERATED CONTAINER PLUGGING ASSISTANTS
Napier Port is the gateway for goods flowing in and out of Central New Zealand and is at the heart of the Hawke’s Bay economy.
The Refrigerated Container (Reefer) Care Team is an entry level position within Napier Port. The team is responsible for the power connection and disconnection of refrigerated containers, which are transported in and out of the port via Trucks, Rail & Ships.
This is a physical role, which is predominately based outdoors and involves climbing ladders and stairs. Candidates will need to be flexible to operate on a 7 day a week, 24 hour a day basis and have the mental fortitude to cope with variable shift work which can vary between day, afternoon and midnight.
Successful candidates must have a full class 1 driver’s license and not be afraid of working at height. They must also have a high level of fitness, excellent work ethic, good communication skills and the ability to follow computer-based instructions and processes in a safe and timely manner.
Key priorities for the role include:
- Work well in a team and cooperate effectively with other departments.
- Provide service delivery to customer and product care standards
- Strong hazard awareness and excellent health and safety record
- A minimum of Class 1 Full license
- Comfortable with working on ladders and at heights
