PROCUREMENT TECHNICIAN
Napier Port is located in Hawkes Bay and is New Zealand’s fourth largest port; providing a range of port and logistical services (marine, handling, and value add services).
The Assets & Infrastructure Team have consistently supported a changing operation and delivered reliability, resiliency and operational excellence. To elevate this further we are placing a greater importance on the responsible, ethical and transparent supply of parts, equipment and service providers applied across our teams.
Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager and the Procurement Specialist, the Procurement Technician is a key enabler of delivering our operational objectives by ensuring that our internal supply chain provides value and supports our technical activities.
Key priorities:
- Day to day procurement and goods receival functions
- Assist with the co-ordination of technical operations activities
- Supporting technical leads by ensuring that required inventory is available to enable activities to occur in an efficient way.
- Vendor and service provider oversight.
- Promote and contribute to a “One Team” culture
- Contribute to broader health and safety initiatives
- Monitor product usage and leverage data and technology to optimize our supply chain and inventory
- Contribute to promoting a sustainable and ethical supply chain
The successful candidate will have experience in procurement and logistics and they will have a strong level of attention to detail, time management and communication. They may also have experience with compliance and governance.
