Napier Port is looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to look after our Warehouse Operations.

Napier Port has a 24/7 workforce of 300+ staff covering commercial, logistics, marine, engineering, driving, trades and corporate roles.

Reporting to the Head of Landside Operations, the Operations Supervisor – Warehousing responds to the needs of our front-line operational teams as a direct leader, capability builder and agent for the assurance of critical risk controls.

Key priorities for the role include

  • Ensure fair and transparent rostering across teams.
  • Build clear progression pathways by fostering collaboration between Warehousing and Terminal operations.
  • Support teams in owning critical risk controls to strengthen our H&S culture.
  • Be a trusted point of contact for staff support and issue resolution.
  • Supervise cargo receival, transfers, packing/devanning, and warehousing activities across all shifts.
  • Coordinate plant and personnel to meet customer, vessel, and rail demands.
  • Drive continuous improvement and develop logistics solutions.
  • Act as the main contact for customers on daily warehousing operations.

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years’ experience in a supply chain, warehousing and logistics, or port operations role, with preferably 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is (desirable but not essential).
  • Effective management and prioritisation of multiple tasks.
  • High degree of autonomy, self-drive and positive energy.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

To be successful the Operations Supervisor – Warehousing needs to operate in close partnership with Business Managers, Planning, Cargo and Logistic Administrators, as well as external customers and service providers.
