About you:

• We’re looking for a motivated graduate with:
• A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as environmental management, science, or environmental policy.
• An understanding of environmental regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A focus on safety and the ability to work confidently in both field and office environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

About the role:

Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Graduate Environmental and Sustainability Advisor will play a key role in implementing, monitoring, and developing Napier Port’s environmental management initiatives.

Key priorities include:

• Assisting with the ongoing development and implementation of the Port’s Environmental Management System.
• Supporting the implementation and reporting of the Port’s Sustainability Strategy.
• Contributing to compliance processes for resource consents and ensuring environmental compliance across the Port’s tenants, users, and contractors.
• Managing and analysing environmental and sustainability data, including wildlife, noise, water quality, GHG emissions, stormwater, and environmental surveys.
• Liaising with key external stakeholders
